Cookie Policy

Which cookies this site uses, what each one is for, and how to turn them off.

Last updated: August 23, 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on https://quenchnest.com, what each kind does, and how to switch them off.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. It lets the site recognise your browser and remember information between page loads. Related technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels do similar jobs, and everything in this policy applies to them too.

Why we use them

We use cookies to keep the site working correctly, to understand in aggregate which pages people find useful, and to allow retail partners to attribute a purchase to this site so that we get paid. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not operate our own advertising network.

Lifespans are set by the provider and can change without notice to us. Treat these as indicative rather than exact.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the site to function. They handle security, protect against abuse, and remember the cookie preferences you have already expressed. They cannot be switched off through the site, though your browser can block them at the cost of some functionality.

Analytics cookies

We use analytics to see which guides are read, which are ignored and which are hard to find. The reporting we receive is aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with anything you have emailed us.

Affiliate tracking cookies

When you click an outbound product link, the retailer sets a cookie so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to this site. Those cookies are set by the retailer, not by us, on the retailer’s own domain. We never see your order details, your payment information or your delivery address. We see aggregate commission reporting only.

This is how the site is funded. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains the arrangement in full.

Third party cookies

Some cookies are placed by services we rely on rather than by us directly, including analytics providers, affiliate networks, our hosting and content delivery providers, and spam filtering where commenting is enabled. Their own policies govern how they use the data they collect, and we recommend reading them if that matters to you.

How to control cookies

You have several options, and all of them are yours to use.

  • Browser settings. Every major browser can block cookies, block third party cookies only, or delete existing ones. Look under Privacy or Security in your browser’s settings.
  • Private browsing. Incognito or private windows discard cookies when you close them.
  • Analytics opt out. Google publishes a browser add on that prevents Google Analytics from collecting data on any site.
  • Tracking protection. Most browsers now include built in tracking protection, and privacy focused extensions can block analytics and affiliate cookies entirely.
  • Global Privacy Control. Where we can detect a recognised opt out signal, we treat it as a request to limit non essential processing.

What happens if you block everything

The site will still work. Pages load, guides read normally, tables scroll and links open.

What changes is that our analytics will not count your visit, and if you buy something after clicking one of our links we will not be credited for it. You lose nothing. We simply do not get paid for that visit, which is entirely your choice to make.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the services we use change or when the law requires it. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version.
